Costa Coffee was founded in London in 1971 by Sergio Costa as a wholesale operation supplying roasted coffee to caterers and specialist Italian coffee shops.

Since then, Costa has been bought and sold by Whitbread and is now owned by Coca Cola, resulting in some 3,000 Coffee Shops worldwide and a huge International brand.
